Volgren Rebrand
Art Direction, Branding, Finished Art, Graphic Design, Retouching
The brief for this project was to help keep the 500+ employees of Australia’s largest remaining vehicle manufacturer from become more victims of the flagging Australian manufacturing industry. To do this, we were asked to update the corporate branding to bring it into the 21st century, while maintaining some of its brand heritage and introducing their new parent company, Marcopolo.
We successfully developed a new design that incorporates some of the Marcopolo colours and fonts, but maintains the original Volgren wordmark. The angular shapes reflect the styling of the vehicles and represent forward movement and progression. Extensive photography of factory staff from around Australia enabled us to make Volgren’s staff the heroes of the piece, alongside the new high-end imagery of the buses.
Colour Andre was engaged to complete and project manage all visual aspects of this project and our work included: facilitating brand strategy workshops, developing new brand identity and the accompanying style guide, photography, retouching, collateral, and press and digital design.
