The Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA) was lobbying the federal government to amend the Medicare rebate system so that it would include physiotherapy as an alternative to surgery for the treatment of incontinence. This low-budget but powerful video highlights the social impact of incontinence to sufferers and the cost to government.
In just three days, it received over 40,000 views, and the government asked the APA to take it down to avoid further public backlash. This is a great example of the combined power of a compelling message and social media.
